Kingsmen Water Polo Too Much for Redlands

REDLANDS, Calif. — Cal Lutheran men's water polo finished their first game of the season with a victory over the Redlands Bulldogs. Their excitement to be back in the pool paid off as the Kingsmen came out on top with a final score of 16-9.

Competing for the first time in over a year, it was clear that the Kingsmen were ready to be back in the water. Justin Krause and Stephen Blaauw led the team with three goals each. The Kingsmen had six of their goals in the second quarter alone. 

Jonathan Salandi was in goal and defended it well with 13 saves and two steals on the afternoon.

Ben Brown came to play as he added seven assists to the team's total of 12. Blaauw, Brown, and Wyatt Lowe each contributed two steals. Lowe also led the team in drawn exclusions with four. 

Cole Weiderman, David Brandt, Nathan March, and Brown all added two goals of their own to Cal Lutheran's total. 

The team had a shot percentage of .421 and tallied 12 total exclusions as a team.

Cal Lutheran men's water polo team looks ahead to their next game as they face Redlands on Saturday, April 10 at 11:00 a.m.
