Haddad, Muller First Team All-SCIAC, Trento Named Second Team

THOUSAND OAKS, Calif. — Maci Haddad and Sophia Muller were named First Team All-Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SCIAC) and Julia Trento landed on Second Team, the conference announced Monday morning.

Haddad (Bakersfield, Calif.) earned her fourth All-SCIAC honor and has been named First Team every year. In conference play, she recorded 155 kills with 2.82 per set. One of the most lethal attackers in the SCIAC, Haddad had the fourth-highest hitting percentage and swatted down  kills with a .410 clip. The middle blocker is also a threat at the net and tallied 54 total blocks, just under one per set at 0.98. She added 22 digs, 13 assists and seven aces. 

Muller (Culver City, Calif) earned the first All-SCIAC honor of her career and was the second Regal on First Team. She led Cal Lutheran in conference play with 167 kills. She recorded a double-double five times in kills and digs. She notched 112 digs with 2.11 per set. She made a name for herself at the net and tallied 38 total blocks. She added 19 aces and 13 assists. 

Trento (La Verne, Calif.) earned All-SCIAC for the first time and garnered Second Team honors. A libero and defensive specialist, Trento recorded 240 digs in conference play, averaging 4.36 per set, which is fifth best. She recorded double-digit digs 22 times and 20-plus digs five times. Trento had made a mark on the serving end and has tallied 28 aces in conference play. She has added 59 assists. 

The trio helped Cal Lutheran to a 13-3 record in conference play and the No. 2 seed in the SCIAC Tournament. The Regals host a semifinal match on Thursday and welcome Pomona-Pitzer to Gilbert Arena with first serve set for 7 p.m.
