Regals Defeat Redlands on Senior Day; Set to Host SCIAC Tournament Semi

THOUSAND OAKS, Calif. — Cal Lutheran women's volleyball swept Redlands on Senior Day, earning the right to host a Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SCIAC) semifinal match.

The Regals improved to 13-3 in SCIAC play and 16-9 overall as they defeated the Bulldogs 25-15, 25-12, 25-12. Before the game, the team honored there graduating Regals, Maci Haddad, Julia Trento and Christina Williams

After the recognition, the Regals got right down to business, and swept their ninth opponent. The Violet and Gold cruised past Redlands in just over a hour.

The seniors shined bright as Haddad recorded seven kills, hitting with a .500 percentage, and added two blocks. Williams added three kills and three blocks and Trento had nine digs. 

Kennedy Crane recorded the most kills on the team with eight and Sadie Peete added six more. Tess Holbert served a match-high five aces and Rayne Selhorst was next with four. Holbert added 19 assists and nine digs and Selhorst had three kills. 

The Regals dominated the match at the net. Cal Lutheran hit with an impressive attack percentage of .317, while holding the Bulldogs to .026. 

The Regals advance to the SCIAC Tournament, are the No. 2 seed and host a semifinal match. The tournament starts on Thursday.
