REDLANDS, Calf. — Cal Lutheran women's volleyball defeated the Redlands Bulldogs on Saturday and improved to 3-0 in conference play. Scores for the match were 25-14, 20-25, 25-13, and 25-11.

This is the Regals sixth win in a row and brings their overall record to 7-6 as they remained undefeated in conference.

The Regals defense held strong as they recorded a total of 52 digs and 15 blocks. The Regals offense was relentless as they had 105 total attack attempts, with 47 kills, and 12 service aces.

In the first set, the Regals tallied eight kills. The first kill came from Sophia Muller and she would score once more. She was followed by three kills from Kennedy Crane, two kills by Maci Haddad and one kill from Miranda Chan. The pressure was too much for the Bulldogs as the Regals took the early 1-0 lead.

The second set was led by Kira Mortensen who scored the first point. The Regals went on to swat down nine  more kills. However, it was not enough as the Bulldogs took the second match and tied up the set.

The Regals came back reinvigorated for their third set as they took the lead. The first point was scored by Haddad, and she recorded three more kills in the set. Muller, Crane, and Tess Holbert would go on to add eight more kills between the three of them. Redlands tried to recover with a timeout, but the Regals kept their lead and won the set.

The Regals finished strong in the fourth set as Sadie Peete, Haddad, Muller, Crane, and Mortensen all combined for 17 kills. The Bulldogs called a timeout twice, but could not  disturb the Regals' momentum. The Regals won the match in four sets.

Haddad led the way with 15 kills and Muller was next with 14. Holbert and Muller both recorded a double-double. Holbert had 31 assists and 11 digs and Muller added 12 digs to go with her kills. Muller served four aces and Julia Trento and Isabella Wade both had three each. Kira Mortenson led the defense with five total blocks and Trento had 13 digs.

After being away, the Regals will be returning to Cal Lu for a home game against the Claremont-Mudd-Scripps on Friday, Sept. 30, at 7pm.
