Regals Record Eight Top-10 Marks on Day Three of SCIAC Championships

MONTEREY PARK, Calif. — Cal Lutheran women's swimming & diving recorded eight marks on the program's top-10 list on day three of the SCIAC Championships on Friday night. 

With one day to go, the Regals sit in fifth with 249 points. 

Alice Peterson led the way as she placed fourth in the 200-yard freestyle. Her time of one minute and 53.26 seconds just missed the podium. 

In the 100 breaststroke, Tori Portillo placed eighth. She lowered her time on the top-10 list and sits sixth with 1:08.48.

In the 100 butterfly, Madi Bodhidatta placed ninth with 57.90, which bettered her top three mark. Alana Tamura was right behind her and recorded the fifth fastest time in program history with 59.00. 

Tamura also placed 9th in the 100 backstroke and recorded the fourth fastest time with 59.92. Julia Benko placed 12th in the 100 back and bettered her seventh-fastest time with 1:00.79. 

More finals included Nektaria Anagnostou in the 400 individual medley (13th, 4:46.80), Paige Woodside in the 200 free (14th, 1:58.15), Ava Holzkamp in the 100 breast (15th, 1:10.78) and Faith Timey in the 200 free (16th, 1:58.86). 

The teams also raced the 400 medley relay. Peterson, Portillo, Tamura and Bodhidatta placed fifth with 4:02.31.

More top-10 records in the prelims were made by Tamura in the 100 fly (sixth, 59.63) and 100 back (eighth, 1:01.11) and Timney in the 200 free (10th, 1:58.39). 

The Regals finish the SCIAC Championships tomorrow.
