200 Free Relay Sets School Record on Day Two

MONTEREY PARK, Calif. — The 200-yard freestyle relay team of Madi Bodhidatta, Alice Peterson, Breann Bracken and Paige Woodside set the school record on day two of the SCIAC Championships on Thursday night. 

Cal Lutheran swimming and diving are up to 138 points and are currently in fifth place. The Rehgals look to make another push on Friday and Saturday. 

The quartet flew through the 200 free relay. Bodhidatta, Peterson, Bracken and Woodside combined for the fast time of one minute and 36.44 seconds. 

Peterson was close to an individual recorded and put up the program's second fastest time in the 500 free. She clocked in with 5:04.92 and just missed All-SCIAC as she placed fourth. 

Bodhidatta competed in the 50 free and bettered her top three time. She recorded 24.07 in the prelims, as she lowered her time, and then recorded 24.09 in the finals and placed seventh. 

Bracken also competed in the 50 free and recorded the seventh fastest time in program history. She raced in the B Final and finished 15th as she touched the wall with 24.72. 

Kendall Moffitt made it two Regals in the top-five of the 500 free. Moffitt finished just behind Peterson as she placed fifth with 5:09.82

Friday is day three and consists of the women's one meter dive, 400 individual medley, 100 butterfly, 200 freestyle, 100 breaststroke, 100 backstroke and 400 medley relay.
