SANTA CRUZ, Calif – The Regals packed their bags and flew up to Santa Cruz for a weekend full of games.

Their first match up of the weekend was against Christopher Newport where they played a hard 90 minutes.

The purple and gold were unable to best the Captains and ended the game with a 0-3 score. Christopher Newport played a strong defensive half and only allowed the Regals to tally one shot in the first 45.

Gabby Flores had four saves in the first half to help the Regals defensive efforts. The half ended with the Captains up 2-0.

The second half had strong defensive efforts on both sides and stayed scoreless for the first 31 minutes. The Regals put up five shots in the second 45 but couldn't get one to go. Flores had another three saves under her belt by the time the game was over.

Five different Regals took a shot at goal but nobody was able to connect.

They return to the field tomorrow to take on UC Santa Cruz.
