THOUSAND OAKS, Calif. — The California Lutheran University women's soccer team brought in a conference win under the lights on Saturday night. The final score was 6-0 over the Redlands Bulldogs.

Junior Isabella Veljacic finished the night with a hat trick, scoring three of the Regals' goals.

Mackenzie Boulware put the fourth goal in the back of the net, forcefully. The assist went to Danielle Vis and she had two on the night. Avalon Valousky had the fifth goal and Katherine Martinson added the sixth and final goal.

Looking to score from the start, Veljacic had the first goal of the night in the first seven minutes of the game. Within the next 20 minutes, she scored her second goal thanks to a beautiful cross from Vis. The other assists for Veljacic's goals came from Alexandra Fagerberg and Sonia Chan

The Regals were excited and aggressive right out of the gate. Throughout the night and especially in the first half of the game, the women were focused on getting the ball near the net. In the first half alone, the Purple and Gold had ten shots, four of which were on goal. They finished the game with 18 shots, ten of which were on goal.

The defense limited the Bulldogs from getting near the goal for the entirety of the night. Goalkepper Logan Duford had a total of four saves on all four shots on goal. She directed her defense well as Redlands had just five total shots.

Two freshmen, Adriana Maroney and Avery West, started the game and got to see some exciting minutes on the field. The Regals look to continue their offensive dominance in their next match up at home on Wednesday versus Whittier. Kickoff is at 7 p.m.
