Regals Bring Home A 2-1 Win From Texas

It was a hot and humid match on Sunday where the Regals looked to add another win to their record before heading home from Texas.

The purple and gold faced Concordia Texas for their final road game of the weekend. The Regals unleashed 20 shots in the first half alone but couldn't get one to fall. Darya Rasoli had a beautiful one touch shot on frame at the end of the half but the Tornadoes goal keeper caught just enough of it to prevent it from going in.

On the other half of the field, the Regal's defense stayed connected and read all of Concordia's plays, resulting in only two shots in the first 45.

The second half started with a goal from the Tornadoes in the first minute. The Regals quickly retaliated with a goal themselves just a minute after that.

Freshman defender Avery West challenged the keeper who couldn't keep the ball in her hands. Senior teammate, Mackenzie Boulware was following the shot and was able to tap it in to make the score 1-1.

Eight minutes later the Regals found themselves rewarded with a PK and senior captain Sonia Chan stepped up to take it. She easily out smarted the keeper by shooting the opposite way, giving the Tornadoes no chance at a save. This marks her first goal of the season.

The Regals had an additional 18 shots in the second half, putting a total of seven on frame.

Despite the amount of shots, the PK concluded the scoring for the game and the Regals will be bringing home a 2-1 win.

The purple and gold return home to play Cal Tech on Wednesday the 15th on the road.
