Regals Fall to the Sagehens in Their First Away Game This Season

CLAREMONT, CA— The Regals fought hard in their away season opener versus the Pomona Pitzer Sagehens but fell short of bringing home the win. The final score was 3-0 after the match on Friday afternoon at Pomona Pitzer Soccer Field.

The Sagehens came out strong and scored their first goal early in the competition.

The purple and gold weren't able to create too many chances on offense but nonetheless they were happy to be able to travel back to Pomona for the first time since 2019.

On the defensive side, freshman Logan DuFord was in goal for the entirety of the night and tallied eight saves.

Throughout the 90 minute battle the Regals tried to create opportunities but the Sagehen's defense kept them from connecting with the back of the net.

The Women's Soccer team looks forward to their next match on Sunday, August 5th against Willamette. The Regals will be back in William Rolland Stadium at 12:00 p.m. for their home opener of the 2021 season!
