Regals Tie Wildcats in Their First Official Match

It was a tough 110-minute battle in William Rolland Stadium as the Regal's took on the St. Catherine Wildcats.

After going down 0-1 in the first 10 minutes, the Regal's locked down on defense leaving the Wildcats scoreless after that. Elisa Shott, freshman for the purple and gold, hit the back of the net off a free kick in the 35th minute. This gave the Regals the momentum to finish off the half with a few more close chances from the forward line.

The second 45 was scoreless for both teams although the opportunities were there. The Regals were knocking on the door of the Wildcats but couldn't find the final piece they needed to put the game away.

In the second half alone, the Regal's had 5 shots on goal to test the Wildcats keeper. Despite the momentum, tenacity, and grit, the purple and gold fell just short of sending the Wildcats home with a loss.

Heading into overtime, both teams were hungry for the golden goal and had numerous opportunities. Despite the close chances, both the Regals and Wildcats walked out of William Rolland Stadium with a tie under their belt a one goal to their name.
