Regals End Regular Season Five Points Shy Of Win

Orange, Calif. – Regals basketball wrapped up their last game of the season on the road against the Panthers. It was a tight battle all throughout but the Regals walked away with a 51-56 loss.

The Purple and Gold went point for point with the Panthers in the first quarter but were outshot in the second. They were down 19-25 at the half.

The Regals put up 32 points total in the second half but it wasn't enough to squeeze them past Chapman.

Mackenzy Iwahashi and Aliya DiMuro each scored in double digits and combined for 21 points as Iwahashi had the extra. DiMuro snagged six rebound and one block. Iwahashi had three assists, two steals, and one rebound.

The Purple and Gold forced 14 turnovers from the Panthers and forced them to shoot under 13-percent from three.

Kamakani DeBlake found herself on both sides of the ball while she put up nine points and seven rebounds. Mallory was just three points and one rebound shy of another double-double. She ended the night with seven points, nine rebounds, two steals, and two assists.

Leading the Regals with 10 rebounds was Grace Godines. She put up an additional five points in the Purple and Gold's offensive efforts.

The Regals are waiting to hear about a possible SCIAC play-off berth.
