Pasadena, Calif. – The Regals had a rough second half on this Wednesday night match-up against Caltech. They return home with a loss of 51-62.

It was a strong first quarter for the Regals. They outscored the Beavers 16-11 with continued offensive momentum into the second 10 minutes. The Beavers broke down the Purple and Gold's defense and took the lead in the second quarter 21-15. This sent them into halftime with a 32-31 lead in Caltech's favor.

Grace Godines was the high scorer on both sides of the court in the first half. She led the way with 13 points and one assist.

The second half showed momentum quickly in favor of the Beavers. The Purple and Gold were out-shot 14-9, allowing Caltech to gain a reasonable lead heading into the fourth. The Regals stayed within distance but it wasn't enough to overtake the Beavers.

By the end of the game Mackenzy Iwahashi added a total of 10 points, four rebounds, two steals, and one assist.

Godines was the offensive stand out for the Regals as she led the way with a 23-point debut. Godines proceeded to add six rebounds and one assist.

It was a well distributed scoring night for the Purple and Gold as seven of the nine active players were on the scoreboard. Aliya DiMuro made her defensive presence known with six rebounds in our paint and two more in the offense.

The Regals shot 100-percent from the free throw line and 37-percent from the field. They return to Gilbert Arena on Saturday at 4 pm to host Redlands.
