THOUSAND OAKS, Calif. —Cal Lutheran Softball was shut out by Redlands, falling 11-0, in five innings, on Friday afternoon.

It was the first game of a three-game series. The Regals travel to the Bulldogs for a doubleheader that starts at 12 p.m.

Starting on the mound for the Regals was Sienna Perez and she kept the Bulldogs quiet. Perez sat the Bulldogs 1-2-3 in the first, and had zero hits through two innings.

The Bulldogs responded after that, and scored 11 runs over the next three innings. Perez threw a total of 62 strikes, and despite her precision and nose for the strike zone, the Bulldogs opened the flood gates with great offense.

The Regals' offense could not answer the call. Redlands only allowed 3 hits making it tough for the Regals to retaliate from the batter's box. Jamie Bingaman, Ariana Mendoza, and Courtney Haapanen each recorded hit, but were stranded on base.

The game ended in five innings, with a score of 11-0 in favor of the Bulldogs.
