Kingsmen Take Down Bulldogs on the Road

REDLANDS, Calif. — California Lutheran University men's water polo locked down the No. 2 spot in the Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference with an all-around win at Redlands on Saturday afternoon. 

The Kingsmen won their 16th game as they continued to roll through conference competition. The Purple and Gold improved to 8-1 in the SCIAC, three wins ahead of No. 3, with five conference matches to go. 

Cal Lutheran got offense from everywhere in the pool as eight Kingsmen scored. Ben Brown, Lincoln Hall and Justin Krause all scored two goals and Parker Jory, Wyatt Lowe, Taylor Garcia, Luke Matthies and Stephen Blaauw each had one. Brown kept the ball moving with five assists and Cole Weiderman and Blaauw put the Kingsmen in good scoring position with two drawn exclusions each. 

Andre Rivas was in the cage and got the win. He had 11 big saves and added two steals. Garcia also made an impact on defense and led the team with three steals. 

The Kingsmen are back in the water on Wednesday and head to Chapman for a game at 4 p.m.
