Kingsmen Start Season with a Pair of Wins

The Cal Lutheran men's water polo team packed their bags and flew out to Colorado to kick off their 2021 season in the Rare Air Challenge tournament.

They started the weekend facing off against McKendree and secured a convincing win of 18-12. Seven Kingsmen got on the score board this Saturday morning and 5 of them had more than 1 goal to their name.

Cole Weiderman and Dillon Goldsmith each found the back of the net 4 different times to tally eight goals between the two of them. Ben Brown and Stephen Blaauw, both returners, added three goals themselves to the stat sheet. Freshman Lincoln Hall bagged three goals on his own to continue adding to the Kingsmen's score.

Wyatt Lowe and Justin Krause had one goal each to finish off the scoring for the Kingsmen.

Veteran keeper Andre Rivas held it down on the goal line and had four saves to help secure the win.

The Kingsmen returned to the pool for a dominating 18-4 win against Mt. San Antonio College.

Goldsmith, Weiderman, and Lowe continued to lead the way offensively with 5, 4, and 3 goals respectively. Parker Jory, Holden Crosina-Sahm, and Taylor Garcia joined Blaauw, Krause, and Hall with one goal a piece.

Senior Johnathan Salandi collected 6 saves to help the Regals to their second win of the day.
