Kingsmen Face Top Competition at UC Santa Barbara Collegiate

SANTA BARBARA, Calif. — Cal Lutheran men's golf competed at the UC Santa Barbara Collegiate on Monday and Tuesday. 

The teams played 18 holes each day at Sandpiper Golf Course. The Par for the course was 72. The tournament consisted of 12 teams and 66 individuals. 

Competing for the Kingsmen was Adam Cartozian, Aaron Moore, Jot Singh, Jimmy Solano, and Hudson Solters. The team recorded a score of 66-over-par. The Kingsmen fired a 318 over the first 18 holes, but recorded a 324 over the second 18 and finished with 642 strokes. 

Solters and Singh led the way and tied for 39th. Solters finished at 12-over-par with 156 strokes. He shot a 79 in the first round and a 77 in the second. Singh fired a 73 in the first round and showed he can compete with top competition. Unfortunately, it was followed by an 83 as he finished with 156 strokes. 

Cartozian and Solano were tied for 54th and tied for 57th, respectively. Cartozin was 20-over-par with 164 strokes (81-83). Solano recorded 22-over-par with 116 strokes (85-81). 

Moore rounded out the team and was 64th at 26-over-par. He shot an 86 and 84 and tallied 170 strokes. 

Next up for the Kingsmen is the SCIAC Championship. It is being held at Olivas Links Golf Clun on April 23-25.
