Jeff Lindgren is the longest tenured coach at Cal Lutheran. He was named the head coach of men's golf in the summer of 1990, and in 2012, the women's program started. 

As both the coach of the men's and women's golf teams, Lindgren has led the Kingsmen and Regals to new heights under his tutelage, producing five All-Americans and many more All-SCIAC selections.

In 2013, the men's team made a return trip to the NCAA Championships after finishing fourth in the SCIAC. All-American Mikey McGinn led the Kingsmen to a 24th place finish and came in 64th individually.

The women improved upon a debut season to finish third in the SCIAC during 2013. Playing with primarily four freshman in the top five, the Regals finished third in five different tournaments. Freshman McKay Weiler became just the second Regal to earn All-SCIAC honors.

2012 proved to be a breakthrough year for the Kingsmen, ending a five-year drought at the NCAA Championships. Cal Lutheran finished third in the SCIAC, its highest mark in seven seasons before coming in 18th at the NCAA Championships. It was the highest finish for Cal Lutheran since 2005 and McGinn placed 27th individually.

In 2012, Lindgren saw the expansion of women's golf to CLU athletics while assuming head coaching duties. He then led the Regals to a third place finish at the SCIAC Championships.

The 2006 season saw Lindgren lead his team to a third place finish in the SCIAC, and a 21st place finish in the NCAA Championships, his ninth trip to the postseason in his illustrious career at Cal Lutheran.

Lindgren led the Kingsmen to a 15th place finish at the 2005 NCAA Championships. In addition, Alan Johnson became the golf team's newest all-American as he was named to the GCAA/Ping All-America Second Team. In 2004, the Kingsmen qualified for the NCAA Championships and finished 15th in the nation.

A 1988 CLU graduate with a bachelor's degree in business administration, Lindgren was a member of the 1985 CLU golf squad that won the NAIA District 3 crown and finished 15th at the NAIA Championships.

CLU won SCIAC crowns from 1993-1998 and again in 2000 and 2001. Since the 1993 campaign, CLU has received a berth into the NCAA Championships 11 times (1993, 1994, 1996, 1997, 2000, 2001, 2004, 2005, 2006, 2012, 2013).

For the 1996-98 seasons, Lindgren served as chair of District 6 for the NCAA Division III regional advisory committee.

He and his wife, Kathy, a 1990 CLU graduate, daughter Jahna, and son, Kameron, make their home in Thousand Oaks.
