Maddy Griess was named the Coordinator Forrest Fitness Center in the spring of 2020.

Griess is a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS) through the National Strength and Conditioning Association (NSCA) and holds a Level 1 certification through USA Weightlifting (USAW). 

She is a Cal Lutheran alum, where she was a member of the Regals soccer team for four years while earning her bachelor’s degree in exercise science with an emphasis in human performance. As an undergraduate student, Griess was an intern for the strength and conditioning department, where she worked with several teams including football, baseball, and both men’s and women’s waterpolo. She was a senior captain for the Regals, helping her team to two NCAA DIII Tournament appearances and was a member of the first team in the school’s history to reach the Sweet Sixteen. Griess was also named an All-American Strength and Conditioning Athlete of the Year by the NSCA in 2020. She obtained her master’s degree in sport science and coach education with an emphasis in strength & conditioning from East Tennessee State University (ETSU) in December of 2022.

Raised in Andover, MN, Griess is enjoying life in sunny Southern California. Her family still resides in the midwest, and she is the oldest of four siblings. In her free time, she enjoys supporting local women’s sports and spending time with her partner Esme, friends, family, and dog Cairo.
