Becker, Redpath Lead Regals at SCIAC Championships

CHINO, Calif. — Sophomore Olivia Becker and freshman Veronica Redpath paved the way for the Cal Lutheran Regals at the 2018 Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference Championships in Chino, California. The team finished in 9th on the Prado Park course, Saturday morning, with a top-five combined time of 2:19:12.2. 

Becker led the team in 53rd place, crossing the line at 26:25.4. Following closely behind, Redpath came in at 59th at 26"40.0 in her very first conference championships. Rounding out the top-three, freshman Caroline Slate also impressed, coming in 71st at 27:15.9. 

Next across the finish line, junior Cameron Baggs finished in 98th at 28:46.8, freshman Sam Torres in 104th at 30:04.3 and senior Kylie Rodriguez in 113th at 31:25.7. 

The team now looks ahead to the NCAA West Regional Championships on Saturday, November 10, at Whitman College in Walla Walla, Washington.
