THOUSAND OAKS, Calif.— Cal Lutheran Regals water polo student-athlete Victoria Rose Meek was selected to the Division III Google Cloud Academic All-District Women's At-Large Team which was announced by the Collegiate Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA).
Earning the award for the second consecutive year, Meek (Coronado, Calif.) carries a 3.91 grade point average (GPA) while pursuing a double major in criminology and criminal justice. With earning a spot on the Academic All-District Team, Meek advances to the Google Cloud Academic All-America ballot which will be announced on June 19.
Meek helped Regals Water Polo win the 2019 Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SCIAC) postseason tournament championship as the Violet and Gold received an automatic berth at the National Collegiate Water Polo Championship. She was second on the team with 43 drawn ejections and added 29 goals, 16 steals and three assists. For season records, she has the seventh and 10th most drawn ejections in program history with 60 (2017) and 56 (2018), respectively. For a career, she has the fifth most drawn ejections at CLU with 160.
The Google Cloud Academic All-District teams, selected by CoSIDA, recognizes the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances on the court and in the classroom. The program separately recognizes basketball honorees in four divisions – Division I, Division II, Division III and NAIA.
To be nominated, a student-athlete must be a starter or important reserve with at least a 3.30 cumulative GPA. Nominated athletes must have participated in at least 50 percent of the team's games at the position listed on the nomination form. An athlete must have completed one full calendar year at their institution and reached sophomore athletic eligibility.
