Regals Water Polo Plays Pacific in National Collegiate Opening Round

STANFORD, Calif. — Cal Lutheran women's water polo won the Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SCIAC) Tournament and punched its ticket to the 2019 National Collegiate Water Polo Championship. 

The Regals (21-8) play in the opening round against the Pacific Tigers (17-8) with the game set for Tuesday, May 7, at 1:45 p.m. at Stanford's Avery Aquatic Center. Cal Lutheran secured the SCIAC's automatic berth with a 10-9 win over Pomona-Pitzer, while Pacific earned the automatic bid from the Golden Coast Conference. At the SCIAC Tournament, goalkeeper Bailey Meyer was named the Most Valuable Player.

The winner of Tuesday's contest will advance to the quarterfinal round of NCAA's and face off against tournament host, No. 2 Stanford.
