Regals Earn First-Ever NCAA Women’s Varsity Top-25 Votes

THOUSAND OAKS, Calif. – The California Lutheran women's water polo team received its first-ever votes in the Collegiate Water Polo (CWP) and NCAA Women's Varsity Top-25 Poll, which was released Thursday afternoon.

"It's an honor for us to be represented on a list of such distinguished programs," said head water polo coach Craig Rond. "I am proud of the girls and the fact that their hard work has been noticed by those in the Collegiate water polo world."

The Regals are currently 18-7 on the season and 10-1 in the SCIAC. They are the No. 2 Division III team in the nation.

Cal Lutheran has knocked off big time opponents on its way to the Regals' first ranking in the Varsity Top-25 poll. CLU has defeated Division I opponent St. Francis and Division II teams Cal State Monterey Bay, Fresno Pacific and Mercyhurst.

The Regals have three games left before the SCIAC Postseason Tournament starts. CLU is going to Whittier, Calif., on Saturday and take on the Whittier Poets at 11 a.m.
