Women’s Water Polo Ranked No. 3 According to NCAA

BRIDGEPORT, Pa. – The California Lutheran University women's water polo team begins the 2018 season ranked third in the nation in the Women's Varsity Division III Top 10 Poll. The poll was released by the National College Athletic Association (NCAA).

The Regals accumulated 90 points in the poll. CLU is two points behind the No. 2 team, Whittier College. Pomona-Pitzer earned the No. 1 ranking and received the most points with 100.  

The teams were voted on by a panel of coaches from the Western Water Polo Association (WWPA), the Mountain Pacific Sports Federation (MPSF), the Golden Coast Conference, the Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SCIAC), the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA), the Big West Conference, the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) and the Collegiate Water Polo Association (CWPA)

The polls are based on the cumulative results of the season and are compiled and released on each Wednesday during the season.

Cal Lutheran opens the season Friday, Feb. 1, verses Carthage College at the Samuelson Aquatics Center in Thousand Oaks, Calif.
