Muller, Trento Named Academic All-District

THOUSAND OAKS, Calif. — Sophia Muller and Julia Trento represent Cal Lutheran women's volleyball on the 2022 Academic All-District Soccer Team, selected by College Sports Communicators (CSC). The CSC recognize the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances on the field and in the classroom.

Muller (Culver City, Calif.) was second on the team with 259 kills and 2.82 per set. She had 13 games of double-digits kills and had a season high of 19. The sophomore had five games in which she recorded a double-double in kills and assists. She was second on the team with 208 digs and third with 64 total blocks. She added 33 aces and 23 assists. She is majoring in exercise science.

Trento (La Verne, Calif.) was the Regals' libero for most of the season. She led the team with 409 and averaged 4.13 per set. The fifth year also led the Regals with 38 aces. She added 103 assists. She recorded double-digit digs in 23 games, 20-plus in five games, 25-plus in three games and had a high of 27. She is currently in the teacher prep program.

Academic All-District® honorees advance to the CSC Academic All-America® ballot. First-, second- and third-team Academic All-America® honorees will be announced in early December.

To be nominated, a student-athlete must be a starter or important reserve with at least a 3.50 cumulative grade point average (on a 4.0 scale) at their current institution. Nominated athletes must have participated in at least 50 percent of the team's games. No student-athlete is eligible until they have completed one full calendar year at their current institution and been on a college roster in that sport for two years.
