Regals Claim Third Straight Sweep

THOUSAND OAKS, Calif.- Cal Lutheran women's volleyball claimed their second sweep of the week against the Whittier Poets. The score of each set was 25-14, 25-19, and 25-14.

It is their third sweep in a row as the Regals have improved to 7-1 in conference and 10-7 overall.

The Regals were led on offense by 13 kills from Maci Haddad who hit an impressive percentage of .600. Sophia Muller added nine of her own, and the final kill count was 39-23 in favor of the Regals.

Isabella Wade had 18 serves, as the Regals thrived with her in charge, and recorded one ace. Three more aces came from Julia Trento as she helped push the Regals offense throughout the night.

Kira Mortensen and Muller brought the energy on defense having nine combined block assists. Haddad had four blocks, two of which were solo.

Miranda Chan assisted with two blocks and had a solo of her own. Cal Lutheran finished the night with 15 block assists and three solo blocks.

Jalyn Chun did her job leading the Violet and Gold with 17 assists. Tess Holbert also set up her attackers well with 15 assists.

Kennedy Crane tallied five kills, proving the Regals' offensive dominance and helping to solidify the sweep.

The Regals head to Claremont-Mudd-Scripps to take on the Athenas on Friday at 7 p.m.
