Regals Sweep Minn.-Morris, Endicott on Day Two of Cal Lu Fornia Invitational

THOUSAND OAKS, Calf. — Cal Lutheran women's volleyball swept their competition on Saturday and defeated Minn.-Morris and Endicott. Scores for the match with Minn.-Morris were 25-19, 25-17, 25-20, and against Endicott they were 25-18, 25-23, 25-20. 

It was day two of the Cal Lu Fornia Invitational. The Regals picked up one win on Friday and made it three straight wins with the two today. 

Versus Minn.-Morris, Maci Haddad hit with a .450 percentage, while swatting down 12 kills, and added three blocks. Sophia Muller had herself a game with 11 kills, nine digs and four blocks.

The defense came out in full force. Christina Williams matched Muller with four blocks, Haddad was next with her three and Tess Holbert recorded two. Julia Trento recorded 11 digs in the sweep while Alysha Buffini matched Muller with nine and Isabella Wade added eight. 

Holbert was in the setter position and tallied 32 assists. She added five digs and two aces, kills, and blocks. The Regals hit with a .229-percentage while holding Endicott to .119.

In the second match of the day, Cal Lutheran took down Endicott. Haddad continued her stellar day. She had 12 kills, while hitting with a .550 clip, and had four blocks. Muller was all over the court with 10 kills, nine digs, four blocks, and two aces. 

Holbert kept the offense moving. She tallied 32 assists and added six digs. Defensively, Trento had 11 digs and Wade added six more. 

After three tournaments to start the year, the Regals next opponent starts conference play. Cal Lutheran is at Occidental on Tuesday at 7 p.m.
