ATLANTA  Cal Lutheran women's volleyball had a slow start and came on late, but it wasn't enough as the Regals fell to Washington (Mo.) 3-0 on Saturday morning.

The Regals were ready to give the Bears their first loss of the season, but were not able to overcome the early deficit, as scores of the match were 13-25, 15-25, 30-32.

It was a tough attacking day for the Regals as they had a percentage of .075, compared to the Bears with .262. Cal Lutheran did dominate defensively around the net, but were bested in the other categories.

Sophia Muller recorded a team-high six kills and added seven digs and three blocks. Maci Haddad was right behind her with five kills and had two blocks.

Jalyn Chun and Tess Holbert split time at the setter position. Chun recorded 10 assists, five digs and two aces while Holbert had eight assists and five digs.

Defensively, Sadie Peete was one dig shy of double-digits to lead the Violet and Gold. Julia Trento matched Muller with the second-highest total of digs with seven.

After their first seven games away, the Regals are home this next weekend. Cal Lutheran host the Cal Lu Fornia on Friday and Saturday, Sept. 16 and 17. The Regals face Colorado College on Friday at 6 p.m.
