The defense was on fire as the trio of Howard, Kent and Martinez combined for 50 digs in just three sets. The fantastic play continued as six different Regals recorded two-plus blocks. Maci Haddad led the charge with five block assists, Samantha Landrum added four more, Christina Williams sent back three and Morgan GivenMadison Karcich and Martinez each had two.

The offense kept producing as Jenna Jones served three aces and Howard, Kent and Julia Trento each had two. Jones kept the offense going with 20 assists and Kent added eight more.

The Bulldogs kept the first set close before the Regals distanced themselves. With the score tied at 10, CLU scored eight of the next 10 points and took a commanding lead. Cal Lutheran continued scoring the points in bunches and went on a 5-0 streak a few plays later and were up 23-13. Karcich and Given tallied a kill, Kent served two aces and Given and Haddad combined for a block. The Regals claimed the first set 25-16 and continued that momentum through the second and won 25-17 for a 2-0 match lead.

CLU looked like a well-oiled machine during the match and jumped out to a 9-2 lead after scoring the first five points of the third set. The Regals had their biggest lead of the set as they took a 15-6 lead, before the Bulldogs made their move. With the score at 21-15, Redlands scored five of the next six point and cut the lead to 2. The Bulldogs eventually took the lead at 25-24 as it was the Regals turn to bounce back. The score was tied again, this time at 27, as a kill from Jones and an attack error from Redlands finished the match as the Regals swept the Bulldogs.

The Regals look for their fourth straight win on Friday as Cal Lutheran welcomes No. 4 Claremont-Mudd-Scripps to Gilbert Arena. Both teams are undefeated in conference play.
