Guidetti and Rouse Qualify for NCAA DIII Championships

REDLANDS, Calif. — Junior Kendall Guidetti and senior Kelsey Rouse punched their ticket to the NCAA Division III Championships after recording lifetime PRs at the Redlands Final Qualifier.

Guidetti broke the Regal's program record for the second time this season, jumping 5.85 meters in the long jump. The personal record breaks the top mark she already held of 5.81 meters set less than three weeks ago at the SCIAC Championships. Rouse also qualified for nationals for the second time in her career. She accrued a total of 4,489 points in the heptathlon, a personal record and improving her No. 2 spot in the Cal Lutheran record books. The senior set her previous record of 4,475 points at last season's Redlands Final Qualifier before finishing 20th in the national at NCAA Championships.

On day one Rouse collected 2700 points, clocking in at a personal-best 15.22 seconds in the 100-meter hurdles, clearing 1.52 meters in the high jump, throwing for 8.99 meters in the shot put and running a 26.21-second 200-meter dash. Concluding their 2019 season at the meet, senior Alexa Barnes finished second with a 38.20-meter toss in the discus throw, senior Stephanie Williamson came 12th in the long jump at 4.41 meters, junior Morgan Snyder cleared 10.75 meters in the triple jump for eighth and junior Kayla Cross recorded a no-height in the pole vault.
