Regals Finish Top-5 in Three Events, Top-10 in 12 More; Three Top-10 Marks in CLU Record Books

LOS ANGELES — The California Lutheran women's track and field team turned in three top-five performances and 12 more top-10 marks at the Oxy Distance Carnival which was hosted Saturday by Occidental College at Bill Henry Track.

The Regals saw three student-athletes set top-10 marks in the CLU record books. Erin MacNeil moved into third in the record books as she finished with a time of 11:54.42 in the 3,000-meter steeple chase. Katie Young was a few spots behind MacNeil. She took home 16th-place and had a new career best time of 12:24.96, which currently ranks sixth-best in the CLU record books.

Rachel Ereso also broke into the record books. She now ranks seventh in the 5,000-meter run with a time of 18:35.02. Her time was the 77th-best at the meet.

Cal Lutheran's Morgan Snyder turned in two top-five marks and teammate Alexa Barnes and one more. Snyder was fourth in the triple jump with 10.92 meters, which tied for fourth best in school history. She also placed fourth in the javelin throw with 29.01 meters.

Barnes had her fourth-place finish in the hammer throw with 45.09 meters. She also competed in the discus and was 14th with 32.38 meters.

The Violet and Gold saw more top-10 marks as Kendall Guidetti and Allie Portis finished sixth in their respective events. Guidetti was sixth in the long jump with 5.28 meters and Portis finished the high jump with a height of 1.48 meters.

Kelsey Rouse and Jay Rhambo both finished seventh in their events. Rouse had a height of 1.48 meters in the high jump and Rhambo threw the hammer 39.98 meters. Rouse was also 11th in the 100-meter hurdles with a time 16.54 and then 13th in the long jump with 4.92 meters. Rhambo also competed in the shot put and finished 12th with 10.62 meters.

More top-10 marks came from Megan Pollock, Kayla Cross, Ana Cordoba and Kate Cochran. Pollock was eight in the pole vault with 2.95 meters. That mark tied her career best. Cross was right behind Pollock and attempted the height of 2.95 meters as she came in ninth. Cordoba was ninth in the 100-meter dash with a time of 12.50 and Cochran was tenth in the discus with 34.66 meters. Cochran also threw for the hammer throw and was 11th with a distance of 37.80 meters.

Anna Schlosser then competed in the high jump and finished 14th with a height of 1.38 meters.

The Regals have a week off before they are back in action. CLU's next meet is the Jim Klein Combined Events in Santa Barbara, Calif., Thursday and Friday, March 22-23.
