Regals Claim Six Events

REDLANDS, Calif. —California Lutheran women's track and field team claimed six events at the SCIAC Multi-Dual Meet No. 1 which was hosted by Caltech at Redlands' Ashel Cunningham Track. The meet also included Caltech, Redlands and Whittier.

Six different Regals won an event as Alexa Barnes, Ana Cordoba, Kendall Guidetti, Erin MacNeil, Jay Rhambo and Morgan Snyder all finished first.

Barnes won the hammer throw and set a new career best. Her mark of 45.47 meters also moved her up to the fifth spot in the CLU record books. She was second in the discus throw with 33.07 meters. Cordoba won the 100-meter dash with 12.41 seconds, which is a new career best for her. She was also the runner-up in the 200-meter dash with a time of 26.03.

Guidetti competed in field events for the Regals. She posted the top score in the long jump with 5.41 meters. MacNeil won the 3,000-meter steeplechase and set a new career best with a quick time of 12:12.68.

Rhambo took home the win in the shot put as she threw for a distance of 10.70 meters. Snyder competed in the javelin throw and had the top mark with 28.96 meters.

Cal Lutheran's Kelsey Rouse turned in a second-place finish. She competed in the high jump and recorded a score of 1.55 meters.

Karlee Cuddy, Rachel Ereso and Megan Pollock rounded out the top scores and each finished third in their events. Cuddy raced in the 100-meter hurdles and finished with a time of 16.75, Ereso ran the 5,000-meter run and clocked in at 18:57.72 and Pollock competed in the pole vault and cleared 2.89 meters.

The Regals continue the season Saturday, March 10, at the Oxy Distance Carnival in Los Angeles.
