Regals Set All-Time Marks at Rossi Relays

CLAREMONT, Calif. — The California Lutheran women's track and field team returned to action on Saturday at the 21st Annual Rossi Relays hosted by Claremont-Mudd-Scripps at the Burn Track Complex.

The eagerness to compete shined through as six Regals broke into the CLU record books with exceptional performances, landing Cal Lutheran eleventh overall.

Leading the way for the second meet in a row was Alexa Barnes, who placed third in hammer throw. She made the record books in her last meet with a 42.72 meters toss, landing her seventh best in CLU history. She threw 44.21 meters on Saturday, marking a new personal best for her and placing her sixth best in CLU history.

Rachel Ereso placed 15th overall in the 3000 meter race. She received a time of 10:36.14, not only beating her previous personal best but landing her seventh place best in CLU history. Ana Cordoba led the Regals in the 100 meter dash as she placed 11th and was just .07 off of making it in the CLU history books again. Sophomore Kendall Guidetti finished sixth overall in long jump with a 5.25 meter jump.

Morgan Snyder turned in a fourth-place finish with a 10.50-meter jump in triple jump as well as eighth-place in javelin with a 30.09 meter throw. That throw was just shy of tying her seventh placed throw in CLU history.

Also cracking the CLU Top-10 in the Pole Vault, once again, was the freshmen Megan Pollack who cleared a height of 2.90m. She tied a previous Regal and is currently in the ninth position. Kelsey Rouse and Allie Portis placed fifth and seventh, respectively, in the high jump.

Finally for the Violet and Gold, Cameron Baggs teamed up with Katie YoungKylie Rodriguez and Mariah Mercado to compete in the distance medley relay. The team finished with a time of 14.02.14, moving them into ninth all-time in CLU history in the event.

Cal Lutheran will now begin Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SCIAC) competition at the SCIAC Multi-Dual No. 1 meet this Saturday, Mar. 3 at Redlands.
