Regals Start Hawai’i Trip with D2 Hawai’i Pacific

WAIPAHU, Hawai'i – California Lutheran University women's tennis is in Hawai'i for the next four duals and began their trip with Hawai'i Pacific on Sunday afternoon. The Regals fell to the Division II opponent 7-0.

The Sharks opened the dual with the first two points, both in doubles play. Carmen Bufkin and Brennan Foreman came up just and fell 6-3 in the No. 1 spot while Luisa Garcia and Carolina Groff Hinojosa fell 6-1 in the No. 2.

Hawaii Pacific kept the points coming as Lauren Sebastian fell in the No. 6 (2-6, 2-6), Foreman was defeated in the No. 2 (3-6, 0-6) and the dual was closed out as Groff Hinojosa fell in the No. 5 (1-6, 3-6). As the dual continued, Bufkin fell in the No. 1 spot (4-6, 6-7 (5-7), Sophia Gawrit was defeated at the No. 3 (4-6, 2-6) and Garcia went the distance, but fell at the No. 4 (6-7 (7-9), 7-6 (7-5), 0-1 (7-10).
