Regals Come Out Of Double Header With Two Sweeps

THOUSAND OAKS, Calif. – Regals tennis hosted a double header against Whitworth and Whittier and came out of the day with two sweeps.

The first match against Whitworth started with an 8-3 doubles victory from Carmen Bufkin and Brennan Foreman. Right behind them with another easy win of 8-1 was Carolina Goff Hinojosa and Luisa Garcia. To finish off the doubles matches was Heidi Levanen and Joslin Seaberg with an 8-3 win.

Foreman was in the one spot for the singles and took the match with a 7-5 and 6-4 win. Following her up was Sophia Gawrit with two 6-1 scores in her favor. Garcia and Goff Hinojosa took solid wins in the singles category and Lauren Sebastian contributed with a 6-0 and 6-2 win.

To finish off match one was Seaberg with two 6-0 shut outs. This momentum carried into match two against SCIAC opponent Whittier.

Bufkin and Foreman started out with another doubles win and outscored their opponents 8-1. Garcia and Groff Hinojosa followed it up with an 8-4 score in the two-spot while Seaberg and Levanen topped it off with another 8-1 win.

Foreman was in the one spot and came out with 6-3 and 6-2 wins. Garcia came right behind her with an identical 6-3 and 6-2 win and Groff Hinojosa came up with two 6-2 wins.  

Sebastian tabbed her second singles win of the day 6-0 and 6-1. Seaberg continued the winning ways with a 6-0 and 6-2 win and Levanen finished it off and secured the sweep with 6-0 and 6-1 wins.

The Regals are on the road tomorrow against CMS at 10 am.
