Regals Take on Tough Div-II Opponent Concordia-Irvine

THOUSAND OAKS, Calif. – After three duals on the road, the Cal Lutheran women's tennis team returned home to take on Division II Concordia-Irvine. The Eagles took down the Regals 9-0 on Saturday afternoon.

Out of the five duals this year, this is the fourth D-II opponent the Regals have faced. 

Concordia-Irvine got on the board first and took the doubles point winning all three of the doubles matches. Brennan Foreman and Carolina Groff Hinojosa fell at the No. 1 (8-4), Joslin Seaberg and Heidi Levanen lost at the No. 2 (8-2) and Sophia Gawrit and Rubina Copano came up short at the No. 3 (8-3).

In singles play, The eagles won every match in straight sets. Henna Levanen was taken down at the No. 1 (6-0, 6-2), Foreman fell at the No. 2 (6-1, 6-1), Groff Hinojosa lost at the No. 3 (6-1, 6-3), Jordan Buck fell at the No. 4 (6-0, 6-0), Hei. Levanen was defeated at the No. 5 (6-1, 6-0) and Seaberg lost at the No. 6 (6-2, 6-4).

The Regals continue the season at home and host Westmont on March 27 in a rematch.
