THOUSAND OAKS, Calif. – Cal Lutheran women's tennis is back in action and they took on Division II, Biola, to open the 2021 season. Biola came out on top as they defeated the Regals 8-1.
The lone point for the Regals came from sophomore Joslin Seaberg at the No. 6 spot, as she won in straight sets 6-2, 7-5. Playing in their first collegiate matches were freshmen Henna Levanen and Lauren Sebastian.
The Purple and Gold fell at the No. 1-5 spots as Biola had the advantage going into doubles play. Junior Brennan Foreman was the No. 1 (6-0, 6-1), Hen. Levanen was the No. 2 (6-3, 6-0), junior Carolina Groff Hinojosa played at No. 3 (6-1, 6-1), junior Heidi Levanen was No. 4 (6-2, 6-1) and sophomore Jordan Buck played No. 5 (6-1, 6-1).
In doubles play, Groff Hinojosa and Foreman came up short 8-4 at the No. 1 spot, Hei. Lavenan and Seaberg fell 8-1 at No. 2 and Buck and Sebastian lost 8-2 at the No. 3.
