CLAREMONT, Calif.— The Cal Lutheran Regals played their last matchup of the season against the nationally ranked No. two Claremont Athenas, Saturday morning, and fell 9-0.
Starting the last doubles matchups of the season for the Regals, Lilijana Peters-Semak and Nicole Alvarez, No. one doubles, fell 8-1.
Christie Kurdys and JoAnn Taylor, No. two spot, fell 8-2; and Brennan Foreman and Carolina Groff Hinojosa, No. three doubles, fell 8-2.
Moving towards the last singles matchups on the season, Hinojosa, No. four, fell to her opponent 6-0 and 6-0.
Joslin Seaberg, No. five singles, fell 6-1 and 6-0; Taylor, No. six singles, fell 6-1 and 6-2; Foreman, No. three, fell 6-2 and 6-1; and Alvarez, No. two, fell 6-3 and 6-1.
For her last singles match of her career, Kurdys, positioned in the No. one spot on the day, took her opponent to a super tie-breaker. Kurdys took the first set 6-3 but dropped the second 6-2. During the tie-breaker, Kurdys came up short 10-5.
The Regals finished their regular season with an overall record of 14-6 and a conference record of 3-4.
