THOUSAND OAKS, Calif.— The Cal Lutheran Regals played their west region competitors, the Hardin-Simmons Cowgirls, and continue on a home win streak, by winning 7-2.
Through the windy afternoon, senior Sarah Seeman and freshman Carolina Groff Hinojosa, No. three doubles, continue their undefeated streak, winning 8-4.
Continuing on with doubles play, freshman Nicole Alvarez and junior JoAnn Taylor swept their opponents at the No. two spot, 8-0.
Senior Christie Kurdys and freshman Lilijana Peters-Semak fell 6-8, at the No. one spot.
Looking towards another home win for the Regals, Seeman swept her opponent 6-0 and 6-0, at the No. two position. Followed by Alvarez, at No. four singles, winning 6-2 and 6-1.
Freshman Brennan Foreman, at No. five, added another victory, 6-1 and 6-1. Kurdys, No. three singles, won with scores of 6-3 and 6-1. Taylor, No. six singles, fell with scores of 7-5 and 0-6.
Semak, No. one singles, took her first match 6-3, but fell in the second 6-4. Semak and her opponent played a super-tiebreaker, and with a final score of 10-2, Semak added another win for the Regals.
The Cal Lutheran Regals travel to UC Santa Cruz, Friday, March 15, at 3 PM PST.
