Seeman Claims Singles Win

THOUSAND OAK, Calif. — California Lutheran's Sarah Seeman won the lone point of the day for the Regals as CLU fell to the Bates Bobcats 8-1 Saturday afternoon at the Poulson Tennis Center.

Seeman was victorious in the No. 2 spot was she won in straight sets, 6-2, 6-0. Jade Moore was close to scoring a second point as her match in the No 6 spot went the distance. Moore won the first set 6-2, but dropped the second set 1-6. Bates won the third set 10-5.

The Regals kept battling, but couldn't overcome the Bobcats. Christie Kurdys fell in the No. 1 spot, Gianna Cupo did the same in the No. 3 spot, Annette Sousa came up just short in the No. 4 spot and Nicole Neumann was unsuccessful in the No. 5 spot.

Bates also won all three of the double matches. Cupo and Kurdys were defeated in the No. 1 spot 8-5. Seeman and Neumann lost in the No. 2 spot 8-3. More and Sousa fell in the No. 3 spot.

The Regals (0-3) are back in action Saturday as they travel to Santa Cruz, Calif., to take on UC Santa Cruz at 12 p.m.
