Peterson Wins 200-Yard Free in Tri-Meet with CMS, La Verne

LA VERNE, Calif. — Alice Peterson won the 200-yard freestyle with a one minute and 58.65 seconds to lead California Lutheran University swimming and diving against Claremont-Mudd-Scripps and La Verne on Saturday afternoon. The tri-meet was hosted by La Verne. 

Peterson had the lone win at the meet and Madisyn Morin turned in the only runner-up finish. Morin placed second in the 200-yard butterfly with 2:35.95. 

The Regals placed third in four events, three individual and one team. Kyrie Fairbairn was third in the 100-yard freestyle (57.67), Eve Miyagishima placed third in the 1,000-yard free (11:59.89) and Peterson was third in the 200-yard back (2:15.26). Aubrey Blickman, Fairbairn, Peterson and Brieyana Walton then combined for third in the 200-yard free relay (1:45.52).

In the other relay, Blickman, Fairbairn, Alexa Modry and Peterson were sixth with 1:57.71. 

The Regals continue the season on Saturday at Redlands in a tri-meet with Redlands and Whittier.
