Legacion Runner-Up, Ties Program Record for 36-Holes at Culturame Classic

CANBY, Ore.Jett Legacion was runner-up, and tied for the program record for 36 holes, to lead Cal Lutheran women's golf with a score of 1-over-par at the Culturame Classic.

The Regals tied for second and recorded 310 strokes in the first round and improved with 308 in the second. The Violet and Gold finished with 618 strokes, at 42-over-par, and defeated four Northwest Conference opponents.

The tournament was hosted by George Fox at Willamette Valley Country Club on Sunday and Monday. The teams played 18 holes each day and the Par was 72. The tournament featured six teams and 38 individuals.

Legacion fired a 73 in the first round and shot even par in the second for a total of 145 strokes. She tied the mark that teammate Ashley Zook set at the CA State Intercollegiate in September. Legacion had the highest scoring average on Par 3s and recorded 2.88. She tied for the second-most pars at the tournament with 25.

Four Regals finished in the top-10 as Claire Cornejo tied for eighth while Tara Ng and Zook tied for 10 th. Cornejo was 13-over-par with 157 strokes (79-78) and Ng (81-78) and Zook (77-82) finished at 15-over-par and 159 strokes. Ng was second at the tournament in birdies and recorded six while Cornejo and Zook both tallied two.

Beth Milne and Grace Mitchell also competed as all six Regals finished in the top-20. Milne played for the team score and was 15 th at 19-over-par (83-80-163). Mitchell competed as an individual and was 20 th at 29-over-par (87-86-173).

It was the final fall event of the year for the Regals as they look forward to their spring season.
