VENTURA, Calif. — The California Lutheran University women's golf team competed in its first fall tournament as the Regals hosted the CA State Intercollegiate at Olivas Links. The Regals finished seventh at 35-over-par with 611 strokes (310-301).
The tournament featured 11 teams and 59 individuals. The teams played 18 holes on both Monday and Tuesday and the Par for the course was 72.
Lone senior Grace Cornejo led the way for the Regals and fired a 75 on each day for a total of 150 strokes. She was 6-over-par and tied for 19th to kick off her final collegiate campaign.
Juniors Claire Cornejo and Tara Ng and freshmen Jett Legacion and Ashley Zook rounded out the team score while juniors Anna Bello and Grace Mitchell and sophomore Haley Brown all competed individually.
Ng tied for 26th at 9-over-par (72-81-153), Legacion tied for 29th at 10-over-par (81-73-154), C. Cornejo was 34th at 13-over-par (82-75-157), Zook (85-78-163), Bello (84-79-163) and Brown (80-83-163) tied for 43rd at 19-over-par and Mitchell was 50th at 25-over-par (84-85-169).
This was the first of three tournaments for the Regals this fall. Cal Lutheran continues their fall season this Saturday and Sunday in the Redlands Invitational at the Redlands Country Club.
