Goldsmith Named Water Polo Offensive Athlete of the Week

ALISO VIEJO, Calif. — California Lutheran University student-athlete Dillon Goldsmith was selected Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SCIAC) Athlete of the Week, the conference announced Monday morning. 

Goldsmith (San Marino, Calif.) led Kingsmen water polo to a 2-0 week and was named the SCIAC Offensive Athlete of the Week. He earned his first weekly award and is the third Kingsmen to garner Athlete of the Week this year. 

Cal Lutheran clinched a spot in the SCIAC Tournament this week and defeated Redlands 11-9 and Whittier 16-14. Goldsmith was a force on the offensive end, and on Senior Day against Whittier, recorded five goals, three assists and five drawn ejections. He showed an all-around game versus Redlands with two goals, one assist, one drawn ejection, two steals and one field block.  

The Kingsmen are back in action on Wednesday with their last regular season home game. Cal Lutheran welcome Occidental with the game set for 4 p.m.
