PRINCETON, N.J. — The Cal Lutheran men's water polo team faced two more Division I opponents on day two of the Princeton Invitational on Sunday morning. The Kingsmen fell to Bucknell 16-9 and Bucknell 13-7.

Out of the eight games this season for the Violet and Gold, seven have been against D-I competition. The Kingsmen have continued to test themselves as they get ready for the Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SCIAC).

In the first game of the day, the Bison got revenge on the Kingsmen, avenging a loss in the first game of the year. Cal Lutheran defeated Bucknell 13-12 for the first time in program history on Sept. 3.

Bucknell started slow in the first game, but this time they jumped on the Kingsmen. The Bison took a 5-3 lead after one quarter and were up 9-5 at the half. The Bison coasted the rest of the way as the Kingsmen were not able to get back in the game.

Dillon Goldsmith led the attack with three goals and recorded five drawn ejections. Ben Brown was the second-leading scorer for the Kingsmen with two and Luke Matthies dished out two assists. Bo DuBois got the start in goal and Daniel Parr also saw action. Parr recorded five saves and one steal and DuBois made one save. Matthies was a force on the defensive end and tallied five steals.

The Kingsmen have one more away game before their home opener. Cal Lutheran's next game is the first game of the conference schedule. The Kingsmen are at Whittier on Saturday, Sept. 24 at 11 a.m.
