No. 2 Kingsmen Host No. 3 CMS in SCIAC Semis

ALISO VIEJO, Calif — California Lutheran University men's water polo claimed the No. 2 seed in the Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SCIAC) Postseason Tournament and host Claremont-Mudd-Scripps on Friday at 3 p.m.

The SCIAC Tournament championship will then take place on Sunday, November 21. The other semifinal pits No. 1 Pomona-Potzer versus No. 4 Whittier. The highest remaining seed will host the championship game. 

The SCIAC charges admission for its championship events, with tickets available through Ticketleap in advance (Ticketleap link here), which are $8 for adults, or free for children under 12 (students with a SCIAC school ID also receive free admission). Tickets may also be purchased at the door for $10. The live video stream will be run through the SCIAC's web portal (SCIACtv).

Ben Brown has been an offensive force for the Kingsmen. He recorded 57 goals, 67 assists, and added 54 steals, to give him the only 50-50-50 stat line in the conference. He also tallied 14 drawn ejections and seven field blocks. Dillon Goldsmith and Wyatt Lowe are both next with 40 goals and Parker Jory is right behind them with 38. Jory is second on the team with 29 assists and Justin Krause has 28. Cole Weiderman leads the way with 41 drawn ejections.

Defensively, Andre Rivas and Jonathan Salandi have split time in goal. Rivas has a record of 11-1 151 saves, 11 assists, six steals and 1 goal, while Salandi is 8-3 with 139 saves, 10 steals and three assists. After Brown's top-tally in steals, Stephen Blaauw is next with 42, and has added a team-high 24 field blocks.
