Kingsmen Water Polo Make a Big Splash in Their Tournament Debut

The Cal Lutheran men's water polo team packed their bags and flew out to Colorado to kick off their 2021 season in the Rare Air Challenge tournament. 

They started the weekend facing off against McKendree and secured a convincing win of 18-12. A few hours later, they took on Mt. San Antonio and gathered another win of 18-4 with ease. 

11 different Kingsmen put their name on this scoreboard this Satuday and veteran Dillon Goldsmith led the pack with a total of nine goals. 

Eight of those 11 were able to put up more then one goal. 

Cole Weiderman found the back of the net seven different times between the two games. Wyatt Lowe added four goals himself to the stat sheet while freshman Lincoln Hall and senior Ben Brown bagged three goals each to continue adding to the Kingsmen's score. 

Stephen Blaauw, Justin Krause, and Donald Nicol all had a pair of goals in their Saturday showing.

Parker Jory, Taylor Garcia, and Holden Crosina-Sahm topped it off with a goal a-piece.  

Jonathan Salandi held it down on the goal line and had six saves, keeping it a low scoring game on Mt. San Antonio's behalf.

Andre Rivas also had 4 saves under his belt in the McKendree game, helping secure the win Saturday morning for the Kingsmen. 

They hop back in the water tomorrow to face off against CMS and Air Force.
