Kingsmen Sweep Season Series with Redlands

THOUSAND OAKS, Calif. — Men's water polo took on Redlands in their second game of the season. They showed up for their first home game winning 11-6. The men were confident and ready to be back in their home pool as they swept the Bulldogs in the series.

Junior Ben Brown led the team with three goals. The team had a powerful second quarter scoring five goals, three of them being scored within the same minute.

Junior Dillon Goldsmith was the second leading scorer bringing in two goals for the Kingsmen. Goldsmith played with great effort as he took and won all of the sprints on the afternoon.

Brown also led in assists with three and contributed heavily on the defensive side with six steals. Overall, the team had a strong defensive game with 13 steals.

The first goal of the game came late in the first quarter by Stephen Blaauw, He shot it to the back of the net and was assisted by Brown.

Senior Andre Rivas was in goal for the Kingsmen and had four saves and two steals.

Sophomore David Brandt added two assists and senior Wyatt Lowe led the team with three drawn exclusions. Brown, Blaauw, and Cole Weiderman each added two drawn exclusions.

Purple and Gold had a total of 32 shots with a shot percentage of .344.

The men move to an overall record of 2-0 and look forward to their next match against Cuesta College on Saturday, April 17th.
