THOUSAND OAKS, Calif. — The No. 14 California Lutheran men's volleyball showed off an all-around team performance as the Kingsmen shut down the Moorpark Raiders 3-0 (25-19, 25-20, 25-15) Thursday night in Gilbert Arena.

CLU finished the regular season on a seven-game winning streak. The Kingsmen are now 19-8 overall. With the sweep of Moorpark, Cal Lutheran swept 15 matches in all.

Andrew Reina led the Kingsmen and had a match-high nine kills. Justin Dietrich, Kelly Jew and Andrew McFarlane all had the second-most with six each. Brendan Ward added five more, Nick Christy had two and Tony Moreno had one.

Mateusz Plewa kept the offense going with 15 assists. He took turns with Alec Bennett who chipped in with 11 more.

The defense was just as explosive as the offense. The Kingsmen combined for 10 total team blocks. Dietrich was a force around the net and tallied a match-high five block assists. McFarlane was next with three. Bennett and Bradley McCallister helped protect the backline with six digs. Plewa and Ward were next with five digs apiece.

CLU's offense combined for a .312 hitting percentage. The Violet and Gold defense held the Raiders to a .011 clip.

In the first game, Moorpark jumped out to a 5-3 lead. Reina and Jew were there for back-to-back kills and tied the game up. With the score tied at 7-7, the Kingsmen scored four straight and took an 11-7 lead. Reina had two kills during the run. The Raiders tried to close the gap, but a 3-0 run by the Kingsmen made it a 17-11 lead. CLU went on and won the first game 25-19.

Moorpark bounced back in the second set an opened with a 6-2 lead. A little bit later, CLU put together a 4-0 run and the game was tied at 7-7. The Kingsmen went on a 5-2 run after that and took a 12-9 lead. A block assist by Christy and Jew, plus a kill from Reina and errors by Moorpark gave Cal Lutheran the lead. The Kingsmen increased that lead later on in the game and won 25-20 and had a 2-0 match lead.

Cal Lutheran carried that momentum into the third game and took an early 5-1 lead. The Kingsmen kept the pressure on and were eventually up 14-7. CLU kept the points coming and won the set 25-15 and the match 3-0.

The Kingsmen finish the regular season 19-8. Cal Lutheran's postseason hopes now rest in the hands of the NCAA. The first round of the NCAA Division III Championships start Friday, April 20.
