REDLANDS, Calif. — Cooper Curtin broke his own record in the pole vault to lead California Lutheran University men's track and field at the Redlands Invitational on Friday.

Curtin bested his all-time mark at Cal Lutheran with a height of 4.85 meters. He had previously broke the program record at SCIAC Multi-Dual #1 with 4.65 meters. The 4.64 meters mark had been held by Scott Johnson since 1976.

Curtin won his event and Sebastian Sawyer made it two Kingsmen with an event win. Sawyer claimed the 3,000 meter run with eight minutes and 59.66 seconds.

Jonathan Aguilar, Jake MacKinnon and Brendon Carbullido all turned in top-five marks at the meet. Aguilar was the runner-up in the 3000 meter run, and was right behind Sawyer, with 9:10.32.

Carbullido was fourth in the long jump with 6.42 meters and MacKinnon was fourth in the hammer with 41.89. MacKinnon turned in another top-five mark as he took fifth in the shot put with 13.68 meters.

The Kingsmen continued to impress with 11 more top-10 finishes. Chris Noji was sixth in the high jump (1.80m), Carbullido was seventh in the triple jump (37.80m), MacKinnon was eighth in the discus (37.80m), Connor Judd was eighth in the high jump (1.70m), Bryan Bugni was eighth in the pole vault (3.05m), Eric Talbert was ninth in the 800-meter run (2:04.18), Timothy Thompson was ninth in the hammer (32.87m), Daniel Avila was ninth in the shot put (11.89m), Noah Gaudi was 10 ^th in the 200-meter run (23.27), Avila was 10 ^th in the hammer (31.15m) and Easten Simpson was 10 ^th in the javelin (30.86m).

The Regals continue the season with conference action. Cal Lutheran is at the SCIAC Multi-Dual #2 on April 2 at 10 a.m.
